Easter Day
"Happy Easter!" - some of the new words in Alina's vocabulary, in addition to "Easter Bunny" and "Easter Eggs". Sunday morning after breakfast, she grabbed her basket and hit the backyard, searching for the hidden colorful loot...

Mom & Dad played it safe, using nice sealed plastic eggs with little goodies inside. No worries of cracked/broken hard boiled eggs that would be tossed anyway. Alina had a good time, enjoyed the egg hunt, blowing bubbles, playing, and yes - eating some of the chocolate goods the day brought. In the evening we picked up Omi, and went out for a BBQ Easter Dinner (Dad's idea).
Easter weekend actually kicked off last week, when Alina got to meet the Easter Bunny. She met him first at soccer practice, then again at the mall where she got her picture taken.
Easter Egg Hunt!
Today was the annual Easter Egg hunt, sponsored by the local community. The masses were out, enjoying the beautiful sunny weather. The children hunted for eggs and prizes, while the parents stood watch (and scouted for hidden goodies).
At the conclusion of the Easter Egg hunt, the festivities continued. Some lined up to get pictures with the Easter Bunny, while others enjoyed the mini mobile petting zoo. Alina got to see a variety of critters, including rabbits, ducks, chicks, and guinea pigs. There were other fun stuff, like freshwater crabs, turtles, and scorpions (yes, at a petting zoo), but Alina's attention was focused on the fuzzy ones.
